I have always been passionate about helping people to value and believe in themselves again, which is one of the main reasons I trained as a counsellor later in life. However, I bring an abundance of experience from a diverse career journey that began in science and evolved through my desire to work more closely with people.
I started my career as a biomedical scientist but felt drawn to work more directly with people. This led me to shift into recruitment within medical services, where I had the privilege of working with people from all over the world. After a period focused on parenting, I moved into social services and then frontline social care, including hospital discharge coordination. In these roles, I found myself doing significant advocacy work, supporting patients and providing informal counselling support.
This varied background has given me a deep understanding of the pressures people face in business, healthcare, and the NHS system. I have extensive experience supporting vulnerable adults and their carers within the health and social care system. Additionally, I have been a volunteer counsellor for individuals at a charity that supports those affected by addiction and abuse.
Through all these experiences, I've developed a working knowledge of how different systems operate and the very real challenges people face when navigating them.
I attend regular supervision and CPD to ensure the best support for my clients
